Mohamed Salah made Champions League history in record time with a hat-trick

What happened? Substitute Salah made Champions League history in his 7–1 Champions League win over Rangers as he scored three goals in six minutes and 12 seconds.

This is the fastest hat-trick in the history of the tournament.

Salah had been left out of the starting lineup, but within minutes he single-handedly scored his 3-1 victory from 6-1. At the end, a stunning finish from the edge of the penalty area.

For the first time since 2012, all three goals were assisted by the same player, Diogo Jota.

did you know? Salah's hat-trick time of 6:12 surpasses the record set by Bafetimbi Gomis, who scored three goals in eight minutes against Dinamo Zagreb for Lyon in the 2011/12 Champions League group stage.

Salah also required the fewest number of touches to score a goal of all his tricks in the Champions League so far in his league.

What's next for Salah? Salah is back in his goalscoring form waiting to get started and hopes to star in a Premier League blockbuster for the Reds when they take on Pep Guardiola's Man City on Sunday.
